2014 Herbal CSA

We are now taking sign-ups for our 2014 Spring CSA!

Subscribing members receive a monthly box of excellent botanicals and information about them.  We make our products in small batches from homegrown, wildcrafted, and occasionally purchased herbs.  We practice ethical wildcrafting and harvest herbs locally whenever we can so that our preparations are fresh and potent.

In purchasing a share of our Apothecary Collective, you will receive a monthly bag of herbal goods. In addition, you'll have access to  Community Herbalists to contact and utilize as needed. When purchasing a share your are directly supporting and becoming part of the Wild Rose Collective.

This year, we will have our Spring CSA boxes available monthly from January through June, and a Fall Share available from July-December. Members have the option of buying a full 6-month share for $300 (deposit of $150 due upon signing up and the balance due by April), or purchasing boxes monthly for $65 each.  (Monthly boxes must be ordered with 30 days notice and are of limited availability!) Boxes can be picked up on the first Wednesday of each month, as long as arrangements have been made in advance (i.e., signing up). Pick-up location is in Iowa City—address TBA.

 

What does CSA stand for?

“CSA” usually stands for Community Shared Agriculture—a relationship of mutual support between small-scale producers of food or other goods and local consumers.  For us it means Community Shared Apothecary—a project to help folks reclaim practical knowledge of herbs and herbal preparations.

Herbs are our green allies in the pursuit of health and vitality.  We want to reacquaint you with them!

Every month in our CSA you can expect…

a honey sweetened elixir or cordial

a freshly pressed tincture

a salve made with infused oils & beeswax

a decadent cream, lotion bar, or spray for the body

a bath sachet or bath salt mixture

a blend of dried herbs for tea

yummy snacks or some other crafty bonus

a quart of kombucha (by request)
